Natural History Cruise: The Galapagos

Natural History Cruise: The Galapagos

Travel agencies are full of cruises in the Atlantic, Pacific, Mediterranean, etc full of trips to exotic beaches and summer resorts. But the increasingly demanding cruise traveler is calling for more specific cruises, focusing on very narrow themes. There are now historical cruises, or cruises that follow ancient routes – like the Cook cruise around Australia. But, for the, the most uncommon of all of these is the so called “Natural History Cruise” or, like some people nicknamed it, the Evolutionist Cruise around the Galapagos.

Instead of focusing on typical holiday activities like beach volley and swimming, this cruise will have you suit up with hiking boots and walking clothes and go out and see the beautiful and protected Galapagos Islands and follow the footsteps of Charles Darwin. You’ll see the diverse species of those islands, including the famous iguana and the turtles. There are tour guides that specialize on the wildlife and will keep things interesting; making this probably the most fun science lesson you’ll ever take. And at the end of the day, you’ll still be able to enjoy the comforts of a fully loaded cruise ship, with pools, spas, sauna, several restaurants and an active nightlife.
